New Cars Launches In 2021 – Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra

In order to cash in the upcoming 2021 festive season, car manufacturers are gearing up to launch several new and updated models. Here’s a brief on the soon-to-be-launched cars from India’s top carmakers including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.

New-Gen Maruti Celerio

Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level Celerio hatchback is all set for a generation change that’s likely to happen in September 2021. In fact, unofficial bookings for the new model have already been commenced at select dealerships at a token amount ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 11,000. The 2021 Maruti Celerio will be bigger, more upmarket and powerful than the existing generation. The hatchback is reported to be based on Suzuki’s new Heartect platform and feature the WagonR’s 82bhp, 1.2L petrol engine along with the existing 66bhp, 1.0L K10B motor. The new-generation model will carry more angular stance and modern design elements.

Hyundai i20 N Line

The South Korean carmaker might introduce its performance ‘N’ brand in India towards the end of this year. The Hyundai i20 N Line will be the first model to hit Indian roads. Under the hood, the hot hatch will employ a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged T-GDI petrol engine that’s good enough for 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 7-speed DCT automatic or a 6-speed iMT gearbox. Compared to the standard model, the i20 N Line looks sportier and carries more refined engine and suspension setup. With several tweaked mechanism, the hot hatch offers sportier exhaust sound.

Tata HBX

Tata HBX, the mini SUV concept that was previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo, is ready to arrive in its production avatar. If reports are to be believed, its final model will be named ‘Tata Timero’ or ‘Tata Hornbill’. The first batch of the micro SUV is ready for dispatch ahead of its launch in October 2021. Expected to be priced from Rs 4.50 lakh, the HBX will be the Tata’s most affordable SUV in India. Engine setup of the new Tata mini SUV is likely to include a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor. There could be three gearboxes on offer – 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and DCT automatic.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra’s new premium 7-seater SUV will make its debut in August, followed by its launch in October 2021. Called the Mahindra XUV700, the model will debut the brand’s new logo and most powerful petrol engine. It’s reported to come with the 2.2L turbo petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel engine delivering power close to 200bhp and 185bhp respectively. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. The XUV700 will be one of the most feature packed vehicle in its segment. The carmaker has already confirmed that the new three-row SUV will offer several segment-first features including auto booster headlamps, smart door handles, air purifier with virus protection and personalized safety alerts along with the segment’s largest panoramic sunroof.
