Rendered: New Tata Sedan With Altroz, E-Vision Inspired Design

Tata Motors is planning to foray into the mid-size sedan segment with an all-new model in coming years. The new Tata sedan will be designed on the Alfa (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform, which already underpins the Altroz premium hatchback. The architecture has a flat floor and is claimed to provide maximum legroom, storage space around the driver and cargo space. It’s compatible to several body style and powertrains including the conventional petrol and diesel engines, hybrid and electric powertrains.

Design and styling of Tata’s upcoming sedan (codenamed Tata X452) is likely to be inspired by the Altroz hatchback and the E-Vision electric sedan concept. Just so you know, the Tata E-Vision EV concept made its first appearance at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. While the new Tata sedan will take a couple of years to hit Indian roads, a latest digital rendering previews its possible design. The rendered model is inspired from the Altroz and E-Vision concept.

While the front grille of the rendered new Tata sedan has been carried over from the Altroz, the sleek headlamps connected via a chrome strip, fog lamp assembly and bumper resemble to the E-Vision concept. Some other interesting elements include bold should lines, dual-tone ORVMs, flared wheel arches with alloy units and sunroof. Read – Top 7 SUV Launches From Tata In Coming Years

It would be quite early to comment on its engines. The new Tata sedan is rumoured to come with petrol and diesel engines along with an electric powertrain. The electric version will use the brand’s new Ziptron technology that also does duty in the Tata Nexon EV. Though, its battery capacity, power figures and range will be different. The electric iteration of the Nexon offers a claimed range over 300km.

Once launched, the new mid-size sedan from Tata will take on the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. More details on the vehicle are likely to be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
