Renault Kiger, the latest offering in the sub-4 meter SUV segment, has been doing really well for the French carmaker in terms of sales. Within very first month of its arrival, the model has become the fifth top-selling subcompact SUV in the country. In February 2021, the company dispatched a total of 3,226 units of the Kiger and delivered over 1100 units on the very first day of its sales.
With the increasing demand, the company has been witnessing a waiting period of up to 10 weeks (which is around 2.3 months). One must note that the waiting period depends on the variant and colour you choose. Select dealers confirmed that it’s the top-end automatic variants with 1.0L turbo petrol engine which are observing the highest demand.
The Kiger model lineup is spread across four trims – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ – and comes with 72bhp, 1.0L naturally aspirated and 100bhp, 1.0L turbocharged petrol engines. Both motors are available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. A 5-step CVT automatic transmission is reserved for the turbo-petrol variants. Prices of the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol manual variants start from Rs 5.45 lakh and go up to Rs 7.55 lakh. The 72bhp, AMT variants cost between Rs 6.59 lakh – Rs 8.00 lakh. The 1.0L turbo petrol manual and CVT models are available in the price range of Rs 7.14 lakh – Rs 8.55 lakh and Rs 8.60 lakh – Rs 9.55 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
The Renault Kiger has been offered in 6 exterior paint schemes, namely, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Grey, Planet Grey, Mahogany Brown and Radiant Red with Mystery Black Roof. All trims are offered with dual-tone colour options. The Radiant Red shade, however, is exclusive available on the top-end RxZ variant.
