Deliveries of the newly-launched Renault Kiger subcompact SUV will start from coming 3rd March across the nation. The model is reported to command a waiting period of up to 8 weeks in select cities. The carmaker has confirmed that the dual-tone variants are quite popular among buyers. Prices of the Kiger start from Rs 5.45 lakh for the entry-level RxE variant and go up to Rs 9.55 lakh for the fully-loaded RxZ CVT model.
Currently, the Kiger is the most affordable subcompact SUV in the country. Its cousin and arch rival – Nissan Magnite comes in the price range of Rs 5.49 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh. The Renault Kiger model lineup includes 3 AMT (72bhp) and 2 CVT (100bhp) variants priced between Rs 6.59 lakh – Rs 8.00 lakh and Rs 8.60 lakh – Rs 89.55 lakh respectively.

Based on the CMFA+ platform, the Kiger can be had either with a 72bhp, 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol or a 100bhp, 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, while the naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol units are exclusively offered with a 5-speed AMT and a 5-step CVT automatic gearbox respectively. The higher turbo-petrol variants come with three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. These modes alter engine, gearbox and steering response.
Feature-wise, the top-end RxZ trim comes equipped with an Arkamys audio system, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging and connectivity, a PM2.5 air filter, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, push-button start and keyless entry. At the safety front, the compact SUV offers 4 airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera as standard fitments.
