Renault had launched the new Kiger sub-4 meter SUV in the Indonesian market. For Indonesia, the new Kiger is priced at 220 million Indonesia Rupiah (approximately INR 11.28 lakh). The new SUV looks identical to the Kiger sold in India. In fact, it shares the engine-gearbox combination and interior with the India-spec model.
The Kiger in Indonesia is offered with two petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. While the former is good for 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque, the turbocharged engine offers 100PS of power and 152Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, an AMT with NA petrol and a CVT automatic with turbo unit. The company hasn’t made any change to the styling of the subcompact SUV. It features the signature Renault grille, flanked by Pure Vision LED headlamps and dual tone bumper. The side and rear profile looks similar to the India-spec model. It features the new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels shod with 195/60 section tyres. For suspension duties, the SUV gets Macpherson Struts at the front and torsion beam with coil springs at the rear.
Inside the cabin, the new Renault Kiger the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is equipped with a 7-inch instrument console, Arkamys sound system with 6-speaker, a PM 2.5 air filter, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ambient lighting, multi-functional steering wheel and others.
For safety and security, the new Kiger gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, rear parking sensors and traction control. It is offered in 5 colour options – Energy Blue, Glamour Silver, Elegant Grey, Bright White and Spirit Red. Interested buyers can also opt for the contrasting black roof. The Kiger offers a boot space of 405-litres, which can be extended to 879-litres by folding down the second-row seats.
