Over 50,000 Bookings For New Mahindra XUV700 In 2 Days

The newly launched Mahindra XUV700 has been receiving an unprecedented response from car buyers in the Indian market. The SUV has received over 50,000 bookings within 2 days. In fact, the prices of the SUV has been increased as the introductory prices were applicable on first 25,000 bookings.

The new Mahindra XUV700 was launched at a staggering introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh for the base model and Rs 22.89 lakh for the top-end variant. The prices of the base MX petrol and MX diesel have been increased by Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. The AX trim prices have been increased between Rs 10,000 and Rs 40,000, depending on the variants. The company has received over 2.6 lakh enquiries.

Mahindra XUV700 Interior

Mahindra had opened bookings for the XUV700 on 7th of October 2021. First 25,000 units were booked within 57 minutes, which shows the popularity & high demand of the SUV. Going by the booking numbers, it is expected that the XUV700 will command a huge waiting period. It will be interesting to see how Mahindra will convert these booking numbers into the real sales number.

The Mahindra XUV700 is available in 5-and 7-seat layouts. The 5-seater model is positioned against the likes of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the higher variants of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The 7-seater model is positioned against the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar.

The SUV is available with two engine options – a 2.0L 4-cylinder, mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel. The petrol engine is capable of producing 200bhp and 380Nm of torque. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 155bhp/360Nm with MX version and 185bhp/420Nm (450Nm with AT) with AdrenoX AX trim. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The diesel engine also offers 4 driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. These drive modes are claimed to alter performance and steering response.
