Over 11,800 Hyundai Creta Sold in Oct; New Model Coming Soon

Hyundai Creta continued to be the best-selling mid-size SUV in the country. With total sales of 11,880 units, the Creta became the second top-selling SUV in October 2022. However, the SUV witnessed MoM sales decline of 7.66 per cent as its 12,866 units were sold in September 2022. Its sister rival – Kia Seltos registered total sales of 9,777 units as opposed to 11,000 units in September. The recently launched Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder stood at number 3rd and 5th with sales of 8,052 units and 3,384 units respectively.

At present, the Hyundai Creta comes with three engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmissions on offer are a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and an iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). Prices of the SUV start from Rs 10.44 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 18.24 lakh for the range-topping variant.

In January 2023, the South Korean automaker will unveil the new Hyundai Creta facelift for the Indian market. The SUV will make its public appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo. Most of the changes will be cosmetic including Hyundai’s new parametric grille merging well with the LED DRLs, updated front bumper with wider and slimmer air inlet, more rectangular headlamps, new LED taillamps and redesigned tailgate.

Interior of the new 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will come with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). It offers safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance and rear cross traffic avoidance assist. The SUV will also receive an updated BlueLink connected car tech and a revised digital instrument cluster as we have seen in the Alcazar.
