Ola Electric is ready to roll out its first electric scooter in coming weeks. Ahead of its official arrival, its bookings have been commenced at an initial sun of Rs 499. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle online by login to the company’s website. The company recently filed three trademark applications for the Ola Series S, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro names, which are likely to be used for the upcoming electric scooter. However, the trademark application is still under the examination phase.
While the Ola Series S could be a limited edition variant of the new e-scooter, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro are likely to be the entry-level and top-end variant respectively. The S1 Pro is expected to be more feature loaded and long range variant than the base S1 variant. One must note that the trademark applications were filed on 14th July 2021 and it’s too late for soon-to-be launched electric scooter.
The latest images of the upcoming Ola electric scooter confirm that the model will be offered in multiple colours options including Black, White, Blue and Pink. It will offer a range of 240kms on a single charge. The e-scooter is capable to achieve 0 to 45kmph in 3.9 seconds and offer a top speed of above 80kmph. It’s claimed to provide the largest underseat storage space in its segment.
The company says that its e-scooter will offer “supreme ride comfort and superior cornering”. Some of its key features will include a removable Lithium-ion battery pack, telescopic suspension up front, cloud connectivity, digital instrument console, smartphone connectivity, alloy wheels and more.
Prices of the new Ola electric scooter are likely to start from around Rs 1 lakh. Once launched, it will go up against the TVS iQube, Ather 450X and Baja e-Chetak. For more information, stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
