Okinawa Autotech has announced plans to grab a significant market share in the state of Gujarat with its affordable electric scooters range. It is also a member of Gujarat Energy Development Agency, and is looking forward to contributing for the rapid EV adoption in the State. The company plans to expand its dealership network by 50% by the end of the current fiscal year.
The company has a customer base of over 5,000 in Gujarat, and is aiming to triple the numbers by 2022. The company is selling 3 scooters – the Okinawa Ridege+, Okinawa Praise Pro and Okinawa iPraise+. These scooters come with smart features such as anti-theft sensor, side-stand sensor, keyless entry, and a “Find My Scooter” location tracker for enhanced safety for the end users.
The company has reduced the prices of its entire electric scooter range, thanks to the FAME II incentive and Gujarat Government incentive on electric vehicles. The Okina Praise Pro is now priced at Rs 57848 from 84,795, while the Okina Ridge+ is tagged at Rs 44,391 (69,000) – a drop of Rs 24,609. The high-end Okina iPraise+ is now available at Rs 79,708, which is 37,892 cheaper than original price of Rs 1,17,600. The new prices are effective from July 1st, 2021.
Commenting on the same Mr. Jeetender Sharma, MD & Founder of Okinawa Autotech states “The state government has made an exceptional move that would allow more buyers from the bottom of the pyramid to ride and prosper with electric two-wheelers. To help the state achieve its goal of having 2 lakh electric vehicles on the road in the next four years. In order to assist the government in achieving this aim, we are also extending our presence and footing in the region.”
