Nissan Magnite (Nexon Rival) Spotted on Road Ahead of Official Debut

Nissan’s upcoming subcompact SUV – Magnite – was recently spotted running on road ahead of its official debut on 21st October, 2020. Painted in dual-tone (Black and Red) shade, the model looks similar to the concept, especially its front fascia. Upfront, it carries a wide black grille with signature chrome badge at the center, sleek headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, a faux skid plate and fog lamps with body cladding.

The squared-off wheel arches, silver finish skid plates and dual-tone diamond cut alloy wheels enhance its side profile. At the back, it gets wrap-around LED taillamps, a boxy boot lid and contoured spoiler.

Interior of the upcoming Nissan Magnite small SUV is yet to be revealed. We expect the production model will retain the interior layout and most of the features from the concept.  It might come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting latest smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, steering mounted control, engine start/stop button and many more goodies.

Rumour has it that the upcoming Nissan compact SUV might the most affordable car in its segment to offer sunroof and 360 degree camera. The Magnite has been designed on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A+ platform that will also be used in the upcoming Renault Kiger compact SUV. India launch of the latter one has been pushed to early next year.

The new Nissan small SUV will be offered with four engine-gearbox combinations. There will be naturally-aspirated and turbocharged version of the 1.0L petrol engine making 70bhp and 100bhp respectively. Buyers will have a choice of two gearboxes – a 5-speed manual (standard) and a CVT automatic (optional).

Prices of the Nissan Magnite are likely to start from Rs 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched at this price point, the Magnite will undercut most of its rivals including Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
