Nissan Magnite AMT and Black Edition Launching Soon – Details

Nissan India is ready to expand its popular Magnite subcompact SUV lineup, offering buyers even more choice with the introduction of a new AMT variant and a Black Edition. While the official launch date remains under wraps, these exciting additions are set to hit the market in October 2024, strategically timed to coincide with the festive season, adding to the festive fervor.

Currently, the Nissan Magnite offers two petrol engine options – a 1.0L powerhouse generating 71bhp and 96Nm, and a turbocharged 1.0L engine churning out an impressive 99bhp and 160Nm. The former comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the latter boasts a CVT automatic transmission. The forthcoming 5-speed AMT gearbox is anticipated to be paired with the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol motor, enhancing the driving experience.

The forthcoming Nissan Magnite Black Edition is likely to be based on the top-end trim, and promises a black-themed makeover, both inside and out. In terms of features, the Magnite Black Edition will be generously equipped, inheriting all the premium offerings from the higher trim levels. These include LED bi-projector headlamps with distinctive ‘lightsabre style’ LED turn indicators, eye-catching chrome rear quarter window moulding, and an elegant chrome waist moulding.

Inside, a sleek black interior theme sets the stage, accompanied by black fabric seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, Nissan Connect connected car tech, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with seamless wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, voice recognition control, keyless entry and go for added convenience, a sophisticated 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, among other features.

Nissan’s vision extends beyond the Magnite, as they are determined to bolster their Indian product portfolio with an array of exciting new UVs (Utility Vehicles) and the introduction of two EVs (Electric Vehicles). The roadmap includes the launch of new-gen Duster-based 5-seater and 7-seater SUVs, both based on the Duster platform, promising versatile options for discerning buyers. Additionally, the highly anticipated X-Trail, slated for the Indian market, will introduce strong hybrid powertrain technology for the first time under the Nissan banner.

Globally, the Nissan X-Trail offers a range of powertrain options, including a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with mild and strong hybrid configurations. This three-row SUV comes loaded with features such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an expansive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and modern amenities like an electronic parking brake.
