Next-gen Honda CR-V 2023 Rendered; Could Get Pure EV

Japanese automaker, Honda is preparing the next-gen Honda CR-V SUV, which has already been spotted testing in Europe. Using spy images, the Russian website Kolesa has released a couple of renderings that shows the possible design of the sixth generation CR-V SUV.

The rendering shows different, and a more evolutionary design. The SUV has few styling cues from the other Japanese cars including Honda HR-V and the Honda Pilot. The new rendering retains the overall size of the current model, and adopts a new styling elements. The trapezoidal air intake is flanked by very thin headlights, which looks similar to those on the Honda Passport.

The SUV’s side still has a high waistline, while the rear looks largely identical to the existing model. The render retains the upright taillights. The spotted model looks significantly bigger than the existing model, which is not coming out from the rendering.

The next-gen Honda CR-V will have a very long hood and overhangs, which clearly suggests that the new SUV will grow in size. It is yet to be announced that the new CR-V will have a 7-seater version or will continue to be offered as a 5-seater model.

What Spy Images Reveal

Next-gen Honda CR-V 2023 will have a more angular profile, inspired by the new SUV models including the HR-V. The front profile will come with longer, flatter hood along with a larger signature Honda grille. It features a slimmer headlamp unit, which follows the shape of the grille. The SUV could receive split headlamp set-up with LED DRLs on top and the main headlamp positioned slightly lower on the bumper.

The current model is available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, and the same is expected with the next-gen CR-V as well. Adding to it, the new model will also receive a pure electric version for the several global markets. The SUV is also expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC engine with CVT gearbox.
