Next-Gen Honda Amaze In 2024 – ADAS, New Platform & Features

Honda Cars India had revealed its ambitious plan to expand its Indian product portfolio by introducing five new SUVs within the next three years. Spearheading this initiative is the Honda Elevate mid-size SUV, marking the inception of the company’s comprehensive product strategy. This plan extends to include a new sub-compact SUV as well as an electric version of the Elevate. Furthermore, the company is exploring the possibility of introducing its global premium offerings via both the CBU (Completely Built Units) and CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. Presently, Honda sells the Amaze subcompact sedan and City with petrol and hybrid powertrains in the Indian market.

The Honda Amaze, a stalwart in Honda’s lineup for nearly five years, is ready to enter its third generation this year. Although the official launch timeline for the Indian market remains undisclosed, reports indicate that the sedan’s all-new model is set to make its global debut in 2024. A significant transformation with the new 2024 Honda Amaze will be its architecture that will be shared with the Elevate SUV. Design and styling cues are anticipated to draw inspiration from Honda’s globally acclaimed new Accord, possibly incorporating elements from the City sedan as well.

The interior of the new 2024 Honda Amaze is projected to exude a more upscale ambiance compared to its predecessor. A novel interior layout featuring a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is expected. Reports suggest that the new model will be equipped with the Honda Sensing Suite – an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) offering access to cutting-edge safety features such as lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure warning, collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beam assist.

Speculations indicate that the new Amaze will retain the existing 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox, this engine delivers a claimed power output of 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. Honda has clearly stated its current focus on the SUV and EV segments, with no intentions of re-entering the diesel market or exploring hydrogen fuel options at this time.
