TVS Motor Company is gearing up for the launch of an all-new 125cc motorcycle for the Indian market. The new motorcycle was speculated to be called the Fiero 125. Details about the design and features of the new TVS 125cc bike are yet to be revealed; however, it is reportedly to get a sporty design. The new bike is likely to draw design inspiration from the Apache RTR 160 4V.
The new TVS 125 will rival the likes of the Honda CB Shine, SP 125, Hero Glamour and the Bajaj Pulsar 125. The recent success of the Pulsar 125 could be the reason behind TVS new 125cc motorcycle in the sports commuter segment. The new motorcycle is likely to receive several upmarket features such as LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), digital instrument console, USB charger, front disc brake, alloy wheels, etc.
It is most likely to be based on the steel diamond frame with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. This could help TVS to keep its pricing in check. It will receive a 125cc fuel injected, air-cooled engine, which is likely to produce around 12bhp of power. It will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
TVS will also introduce a new 125cc scooter, which is likely to be called the Jupiter 125. It is likely to be a maxi scooter with massive under seat storage. The scooter is likely to offer enough space to accommodate two helmets. It will directly rival the new Honda Activa 125 and the Access 125. It is likely to get analog speedometer with a small LCD screen to show details about fuel level and tripmeters. It is expected that the new scooter will share the engine with the NTorq. However, the power figures and CVT ratios might be diferent. The fuel efficiency numbers will also be improved significantly over the NTorq 125.
