Toyota has introduced a new RAV4 Adventure edition for the European markets. The company claims that the new RAV4 Adventure reinforces the model’s “go anywhere” spirit with stand-out rugged styling that’s ready for life in the great outdoors.
The Toyota RAV4 Adventure comes with design changes, which gives it a more rugged look. The SUV features a new black front grille, new fog lamps with black surrounds and silver underbody protection. The SUV has a wider, flared wheel arches. It rides on new 19-inch alloy wheels finish in matte grey.
At the back, the SUV gets a similar silver under-run. The RAV4 Adventure will be offered with a unique bi-tone paintwork option, combining a body in Urban Khaki with roof, front pillars and rear spoiler in grey colour. Toyota says that this model pays tribute to the signature light roof of Toyota’s classic FJ40 Land Cruiser.
Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a dedicated upholstery design for the seats, combining smooth, black synthetic leather with deeply quilted back and cushion sections, with contrasting orange contrast stitching. RAV4 ADVENTURE scuff plates are also fitted. It gets new projector-type LED headlights and LED front fog lights, a new 10-spoke alloy wheel design, new LED lighting, power adjustment for the front passenger seat, illuminated window control switches, and new USB-C ports for charging phones and devices.
The new Toyota RAV4 Adventure is powered by Toyota’s fourth generation hybrid electric technology. It features intelligent all-wheel drive system as standard, featuring an additional compact electric motor on the rear axle. The hybrid powertrain comprising of electric motors and a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine – offering 222bhp. AWD-i (Intelligent AWD) also allows for loads of up to 1,650kg to be towed.
The new Toyota RAV4 Adventure and the refreshed RAV4 model range will go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2022. The Adventure edition is not likely to arrive in our market; however, Toyota is considering bringing the standard RAV4 in our market.
