Earlier this year, the Japanese carmaker introduced the 2020 Toyota Fortuner facelift in Thailand and Vietnam. The premium 7-seater SUV receives noticeable changes inside and out along with a more powerful engine. Now, the company is planning to launch the updated Toyota Fotuner TRD Sportivo variant. Ahead of its official unveiling, the pictures and feature details of the model have been leaked online.
As per the brochure leaked scan, the 2020 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo facelift will carry newly-designed front and rear bumpers, LED fog lamps and taillmaps. The updated model will also receive a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels. Interior will also be revised with a bunch of new features. There will be a 360 degree camera with the new intelligent system that will help prevent collision while parking or setting off. The new Fortuner TRD Sportivo will also get new wireless charger, a 9-inch HUD (Head-Up-Display) unit and powered tailgate with kick sensor for hands free operation.
There is official word on its India launch. Though, the carmaker has started testing the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift in the country. In India, the SUV is likely to be offered with the same BS6-compliant 2.8L turbo diesel engine with 6-speed manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options. Similar to the Thai model, the India-spec Toyota Fortuner facelift might get a larger mesh-pattern grille, newly-designed LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, updated fog lamps, new bumper and revised silver skid plate. The SUV is likely to come with a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels and slimmer LED taillamps. The carmaker might also equip an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the existing 7-inch unit. It will continue to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
