The new Toyota C-segment MPV, codenamed 560B is scheduled to be launched in 2023. It is expected to be based on Toyota’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Generation Architecture) that underpins the global Raize and the new-gen Avanza. This platform will also be used to develop the upcoming mid-sized SUV.

In terms of pricing, the new Toyota 7-seater MPV will be positioned between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta. It will rival the likes of the Kia Carens and the Mahindra Marazzo. The new MPV will come with Toyota’s hybrid technology. Similar to the mid-sized SUV, the new Toyota MPV is also expected to be shared with Maruti Suzuki.

This year, the Japanese automaker is planning to launch 4 new models including the Glaza facelift, new Urban Cruiser, a mid-sized SUV and the Hilux lifestyle pick-up truck. The company is also expected to launch the re-badged Ertiga and the Ciaz sedan in the country. The re-badged Ertiga, called the Toyota Rumion is already on sale in South Africa. The Ciaz-based sedan will be called the Toyota Belta.

The report claims that Toyota plans to produce 2 lakh units of the Creta rival mid-sized SUV annually within next few years. Adding to it, a third of its production will be the hybrid version offering an electric motor with the internal combustion engine.
