Mercedes-Benz has planned several new models for the Indian market. According to a fresh media report, the German automaker will bring the Maybach S Class and new C-Class sedan in March and May 2022 respectively. The company will also introduce the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series in India this year. Though, the sportscar will be sold in limited numbers. Here’s a brief on the three upcoming Mercedes-Benz cars.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
The Maybach S-Class comes with a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine boosted with 48V mild hybrid technology. The motor returns a claimed power of 500bhp. It has 4WD (four-wheel drive) system. The limousine sits on a significantly long 5,469mm wheelbase, which is 180mm longer than the LWB S-Class. It carries the signature Maybach grille with slim vertical bars and a ‘Maybach’ inscription on the top. Design bits such as 34-spoke alloy wheels, Maybach insignias on the C-pillars and the optional dual-tone colour with a ‘dividing line’ enhance its premium appearance. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has sophisticated interior packed with lots of comfort goodies and advanced connectivity features.
2022 Mercedes C-Class
The 6th generation Mercedes C-Class, which was previewed last year, has witnessed significant changes inside and out along with the electrified engines. While the global-spec model comes with the electric four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, here it could be brought with the 48V mild hybrid tech. Compared to the older version, the new one is longer and more spacious. Some of its key features include a horizontal, free-floating Mercedes’ second-generation MBUX infotainment system with 10.25-inch display (standard), a high definition LCD digital instrument display, multiple operating modes (navigation, assistance and service), ambient lighting with optical fibre technology (optional) and more.
Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
The German automaker plans to introduce the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in India sometime this year. Only limited units will be retailed in the country. If report is to be believed, all allocated units have already been sold out. For power, the model uses a 4.0L AMG V8 petrol engine that delivers a whooping 730bhp against 800Nm of torque. It comes with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and RWD (rear-wheel drive) system.
