Things under the hood are exactly similar to the Harrier. The new Tata Safari comes with the 2.0L Kryotec turbo diesel engine that’s good enough for 170bhp and 350Nm. The SUV can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. In fact, it shares its platform with the Harrier. The three-row SUV sits on the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture that’s compatible to 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system and electric powertrains. That means, the Safari 4X4 and electric versions might be introduced at a later stage. Read: New Tata Safari Vs Rivals – Price Comparison
