Tata Motors is preparing to launch multiple new models including the new Nexon, Punch EV, and the updated Harrier & Safari. The new Nexon will first go on sale in our market by mid-2023. Ahead of the official launch, new details about the powertrain and gearbox options have been revealed on the Internet.
The Tata Nexon facelift will be offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. Power figures are yet to be revealed, but expect them to remain the same. However, the Nexon facelift could get the new 1.2L Direct Injection engine that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. This powertrain is capable of producing 125PS and 225Nm of torque.
The report reveals that the new Tata Nexon will be offered with 4 gearbox options – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. All 4 gearbox options are expected to be offered on the petrol version of the 1.2L petrol version. The 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered on the entry-level petrol trims, while the 7-speed DCT will be offered on the higher-spec trims. The mid- and higher-spec petrol trism will get the 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The new Nexon diesel version will continue to be offered with the 6-speed manual and AMT.
The new Tata Nexon facelift will come with comprehensive design changes and upgraded interior. The styling of the SUV is inspired from the Curvv SUV Coupe. Not just visual makeover, the new Nexon will receive sheet metal changes. It will come with new split headlamp setup, revised front grille, new bumpers, a full-width LED tail-lights and new dual-tone alloy wheels.
The new Tata Nexon facelift will come with an all-new interior, featuring a completely redesigned dashboard layout. It will have a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, an all-new touch-based central control panel, a new digital instrument console and a new two-spoke steering wheel.
