New Suzuki Swift Sportier Version Coming In January – Key Details

Japanese automaker, Suzuki has recently launched the new generation Swift hatchback in the domestic market. In the global markets, the new Suzuki Swift is available in 3 trim levels and a new petrol engine with a hybrid tech. Maruti Suzuki has also started testing the new Swift on the Indian roads, which suggest that the local debut could take place in the new future. The company is also readying a sportier version of the Swift hatchback, which is scheduled to be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024.

This year’s of Tokyo Auto Salon is scheduled to be held from January. Suzuki has also released a picture of the new Sportier Swift, which is expected to be introduced as a concept. This concept is finished in a new Yellow colour, called ‘Cool Yellow Rev’. The new Suzuki Swift Sportier version also comes with multiple changes on the exterior, which gives it a sporty appeal. The company hasn’t revealed many details about the key details about the new Suzuki Swift sportier concept. Going by the pictures, it is visible that the new Sportier concept comes with cosmetic changes in the form of blacked-out wing mirrors and pillars. The hatchback also has sportier decals and graphics on door panels. Other changes include smoked LED headlamps and tail-lights, gloss black-coloured front skid plate, and blacked-out alloy wheels.

The new-gen Swift hatchback has received an all-new interior with huge similarities with the new Fronx crossover and the Baleno. It comes with a new dual-tone black-beige interior scheme. The hatchback has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, toggle switches for climate controls, etc.

The new-gen Swift is based on the heavily modified HEARTECT platform, which will also underpin the new age Dzire sub-4 meter sedan. The company claims to have used lightweight, high-strength ultra-high tensile steel plates over a wide range of areas. It is offered with both petrol and hybrid powertrains. The hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre, 12V, DOHC engine that is capable of producing 82bhp at 5700rpm and a peak torque of 108Nm at 4500rpm. The mild hybrid version comes with a DC synchronous motor, offering an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a new CVT automatic gearbox. It is expected that the India-spec model could also get an AMT option.
