New Suzuki Swift Sport With Mild Hybridization; Debut In Q2, 2024

Japanese automaker, Suzuki has recently revealed the new gen Swift concept at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. Similar to the current model, the next-gen Suzuki Swift will also receive a sportier version in the global markets. A new media report from Japan reveals that the new-gen Suzuki Swift Sport will make its global debut during Spring 2024 (between March-May 2024).

The report claims that the new-gen Suzuki Swift Sport will be reborn with mild hybridization; however, the new hatchback will retain the same performance. It is reportedly to be powered by a 1.4-litre turbo mild hybrid with a combined engine and motor power of around 150PS. The design of the new model will be based on the concept. The powertrain will be benefitted with a 48V mild hybrid tech. The addition of 48V motor is likely to improve low-speed torque as well as fuel efficiency. The engine body will be improved with better compression ratio and new adoption of electric intake VVT and EGR.

The new-gen Suzuki Swift Sport will be based on the heavily updated HEARTECT platform that also underpins the new Swift concept. There are rumours that the new model could adopt a newly developed platform. The new model will continue to be offered as a lightweight and compact sports model.

The new Suzuki Swift Sport body size is expected to be almost the same as the current model. The company would aim to achieve lighter weight. Transmission choices will remain the same that is a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Expect the new model to offer more torque, and will feel quicker than the current model.
