New SUV & Scooter Launches Next Week – Segment 1st Features, Details

The festive season has finally begun with the Navratri and the scheduled new four and two-wheelers have started rolling out in the market. There will be two important product launches next week, namely, MG Astor and BMW C400 GT. While the former will be MG’s answer to India’s top-selling SUV – Hyundai Creta, the latter will be the first maxi-scooter from BMW Motorrad in the country. Here’re key details of the upcoming two new models.

MG Astor

Prices of the MG Astor mid-size SUV will be officially announced on 11th October 2021. It’s estimated to cost around Rs 9 lakh for the base variant and up to Rs 15 lakh for the top-end model. The Astor might undercut the Kia Seltos. The SUV will come with the segment’s most powerful engines – 1.5L VTi naturally aspirated (108bhp/144Nm) and 1.3L turbo petrol (138bhp/220Nm). There will be three gearboxes on offer – 5-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic and 8-speed CVT. The MG Astor has been packed some segment-first features including an AI-based personal assistant, Level-2 autonomous technology, steering modes, a 360 degree 3D camera and auto intelligent headlamps. MG’s new SUV will also be high on safety.

BMW C400 GT

BMW C400 GT Launch Date

BMW Motorrad’s first maxi-scooter for India will hit roads on 12th October 2021. The model is likely to be priced around 7 lakh (ex-showroom). For power, it will use a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that’s good enough for 33.5bhp and 35Nm. The motor will be paired to a CVT automatic gearbox and deliver a claimed top speed of 139kmph. The BMW C400 GT maxi-scooter has full LED lighting system with a larger windscreen, split-style footboards, sporty pillion grab rails and step-up saddle with GT tag. It has been equipped with a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. There is a USB charging port for the smartphone. The new BMW scooter offers riding modes, traction control and revised automatic stability control system.
