New MG Gloster Savvy 7-Seater Variant Launch On 9th August

MG Motor India will roll out the new MG Gloster Savvy trim with 7-seats configuration on August 9, 2021. The new trim will be more affordable than the existing top-end Savvy 6-seater variant that costs Rs 36.88 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s estimated to be Rs 30,000 – Rs 40,000 lower than its 6-seater sibling. At present, the MG Gloster SUV model lineup is available in four trims – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy – priced between Rs 29.98 lakh – Rs 37.28 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Being the top-end trim, the new MG Gloster Savvy 7-seater variant will offer some exclusive features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, hands free parking, adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning. The feature list will also include a 360 degree camera, blind spot assist, electronic locking rear differential, a 12-speaker audio system with subwoofer and amplifier, a panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, powered co-driver seat with heating, auto dimming inside rear view mirror and many more.

Under the hood, the new MG Gloster Savvy 7-seater variant will feature the same 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine delivering power worth 218bhp and 480Nm of torque. It can be had with 4WD (on-demand) system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Super and Smart trims come with the 2.0L single turbo motor with 2WD system. It pushes out a peak power of 163bhp and 375Nm of torque.

After the new, range-topping Gloster 7-seater variant, the British carmaker will bring in the new MG Hector Shine variant. It will be a mid-level variant that’s reported to miss out on Wi-Fi connectivity, iSmart technology, wireless phone charging and tyre pressure monitor.

MG will also foray into the mid-size SUV space to challenge the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, the newly-launched Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. The company will introduce the MG Astor SUV that’s essentially the petrol version of the ZS EV. While its official launch date is yet to be confirmed, the model is likely to arrive in the next couple of months.
