New Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift Prices, Variants, Features

The recently unveiled new Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift, globally premiered in early 2023, has officially entered the Indian market. Available in two distinct variants – the 450 petrol and the 450d diesel – priced at Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom), this revamped SUV positions itself against formidable competitors such as the BMW X7, Volvo XC90, and Land Rover Discovery, priced at Rs 1.27 crore, Rs 98.85 lakh, and Rs 95.65 lakh, respectively.

Marked by a series of substantial updates in both design and features, Mercedes’ flagship SUV impressively showcases its prowess. Powering the new GLS facelift are the 3.0L six-cylinder petrol and 3.0L six-cylinder diesel engines, equipped with mild hybrid and ISG (integrated starter generator) technology.

The petrol engine claims a power output of 381bhp and 500Nm of torque, while the diesel counterpart boasts 367bhp and an impressive 700Nm. A 9-speed automatic gearbox and an AWD (all-wheel drive) system are standard features across the entire model lineup. The SUV measures 5.2 meters in length and 1.96 meters in width, and has a water wading depth of 500mm.

Delving into its interior, the new Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift introduces the latest MBUX system, a redesigned steering wheel featuring haptic feedback buttons, and an advanced 360-degree camera. The SUV also incorporates the ADAS suite, adjustable air suspension, wireless charging, and heated and cooled seats.

A notable inclusion is the standard ‘Rear Seat Comfort’ package, offering dual 11.6-inch entertainment screens, head restraints, electric sunblinds, controls for front seat adjustments to enhance space, and more. Customers can choose from three distinct interior upholsteries – brown, black, and beige – all impeccably finished in faux leather.

On the aesthetic front, the GLS facelift boasts a redesigned grille adorned with four horizontal chrome strips, new DRLs, 21-inch alloy wheels, and a fresh block pattern signature on the rear taillamps. The updated version of the SUV is presented in a palette of five elegant color options – Polar White, Sodalite Blue, Obsidian Black, Selenite Grey, and High-tech Silver.
