The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to unveil 3 new Born Electric SUV concepts on August 15, 2022. The new models will preview the design direction for the brand’s future Electric Vehicles based on dedicated skateboard architecture. Before introducing the new EVs, Mahindra will launch the new generation Scorpio N on June 27, 2022.
Pratap Bose, Chief Design Officer at Mahindra has released a new teaser showing the upcoming electric SUV. This model will be a part of Mahindra’s Born Electric SUV range, which will be unveiled in August 2022. The company will unveil 3 new electric models at Mahindra’s new design studio in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. These concepts are designed by the new UK based design studio.
The teaser images suggest that Mahindra could reveal a compact SUV, a mid-sized SUV and an SUV Coupe. The latest teaser video shows an electric SUV Coupe, which is reportedly to preview the brand’s upcoming XUV900 SUV Coupe.
The teaser reveals razor-sharp body panels, star-shaped wheels, a 3-door design configuration, a rectangular-shaped steering wheel, a landscape-oriented digital instrument console, adjustable headrests, bucket seats, etc. The concept also has black side body cladding, prominent squarish wheel arches, large air vents, roof-mounted spoiler, etc.
The concept misses out on the traditional side mirrors, and gets camera system. Previous teasers show dual-screen setup for instrument panel and infotainment system. There is a rotary dial placed in the centre console.
Mahindra is also likely to unveil an all-new electric SUV, which will be similar in size of the XUV700. Adding to it, the company will also unveil a small SUV concept, which is likely to preview the brand’s all-new compact electric SUV. The company is also in talks with Volkswagen Group and could use the VW’s MEB platform to develop its future Born Electric SUVs.
