New Kia Sonet Vs Old Sonet – What’s The Difference

The new Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV has made its India debut on December 15, 2023, and the bookings for the same will commence from December 20 onwards. However, prices for the new Sonet will be revealed sometime in January next year. The updated model has received significant changes in terms of styling elements and interior features; however, the overall profile remains the same. In this article, we talk about the key difference between the new Kia Sonet and old Sonet.

The big changes have been made to the front styling of the Sonet, which now has sharper 3-piece LED headlights and longer fang-shaped LED daytime running lights. It now features a revised grille with silver inserts and sleeker LED fog lights. The sub-4 meter SUV also comes with a revised bumper that accommodates a restyled air dam.

The new Kia Sonet comes with new alloy wheels, an ORVM-mounted camera and body-coloured door handles. At the back, the sub-4 meter SUV gets new fully connected LED tail-lights and a revised bumper.

Interior Changes

The dashboard layout of the updated Sonet looks identical to the outgoing model; except for the addition of a new climate control panel below the touchscreen infotainment unit. The SUV gets a bigger 10.25-inch digital instrument console and new 360 degree camera, which we have already seen on the new Seltos. In terms of features, the new Sonet gets a 4-way powered driver seat, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and cruise control. These features are also offered with the updated Venue compact SUV.

It comes equipped with six airbags as standard along with 10 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) in the top variants. The SUV also gets ESC, front parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.

The new Sonet facelift comes with the same powertrain options that are offered on the outgoing model. However, the company has re-introduced the diesel manual version with the new Sonet. The SUV is offered with 3 engine options – 83PS, 1.2L Petrol with 5MT, a 120PS, 1.0L turbo with 6iMT & 7DCT, and a 116PS, 1.5L diesel with 6MT, 6iMT and 6AT.
