Hyundai Exter Waiting Period In 7 Major Cities

The Hyundai Exter is the latest offering from the South Korean automaker, and it competes directly with the Tata Punch. This micro SUV has made a strong start, amassing over 50,000 bookings. Interestingly, the top three variants equipped with sunroofs account for 75 percent of the total bookings, followed by the AMT variants and CNG trims.

As bookings continue to pour in, the waiting period for the Hyundai Exter has started to increase, particularly in metro cities. Currently, the micro SUV commands a waiting period of up to 8 months in Bengaluru and 4 months in Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Buyers in Mumbai and Pune can expect delivery within 3 months, while Kolkata has a waiting period of 3.5 months.

The Hyundai Exter offers a lineup of five trims: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. The manual variants are priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.32 lakh (ex-showroom), while the AMT models range from Rs 7.97 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. There are also two CNG variants, namely S and SX (O), priced at Rs 8.24 lakh and Rs 8.97 lakh, respectively.

Under the hood, the Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83bhp and 114Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The CNG version offers a claimed power output of 69bhp and 95.2Nm of torque.

It’s worth noting that the AMT gearbox is not available with the entry-level E trim. Hyundai claims that the Exter petrol manual and AMT versions offer a fuel efficiency of 19.4kmpl and 19.2kmpl, respectively, while the factory-fitted CNG model promises 27.10km/kg.

In other exciting news, Hyundai has already commenced testing the electric version of the Exter micro SUV. The model is currently in its initial testing phase and is expected to hit the roads sometime in 2024, marking Hyundai’s entry into the electric vehicle segment.
