In January 2022, Kia Motors revealed its new corporate logo and slogan (“Movement that inspires”) under its global rebranding exercise. The new emblem, which looks like a handwritten signature, will debut on the Sonet subcompact SUV and Seltos mid-size SUV in coming weeks. The carmaker says that its new logo symbolizes the brand’s commitment to customers for change and innovation. While the Kia Sonet made its presence felt ever since its launch in September 2020, the Kia Seltos is among the top-selling SUVs in the country.
The Kia Seltos was first launched in August 2019, and received its first mid-life update in June 2020. The SUV comes with two petrol and one diesel engine. The 1.5L petrol motor pushes out a peak power of 115bhp and 144Nm of torque. It can be had with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. The 1.4L direct-injection turbo petrol unit returns a claimed power of 140bhp and 242Nm of torque. It comes with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox options.
The diesel variants are powered by a 1.5L engine that’s good enough for 115bhp and 250Nm. The oil burner comes paired to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The SUV offers three drive modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) and three terrain modes (Wet, Mud and Sand). The Kia Sonet, on the other hand, is available with 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. Read – Kia EV6 – First Dedicated Electric Car Teased
