The new Jeep Commander 7-seater SUV is all set to make its global debut on August 26, 2021 in Brazil. While its Brazil-spec model will be called Commander, the model is reported to be named Jeep Meridian in India. Here, it’s likely to arrive by mid 2022.
Ahead of its world premiere next week, the official images of the new Jeep 7-seater SUV have been revealed online. The Commander, which is essentially the three-row version of the Compass, has massive body-built with stretched window lines and rear section.
Upfront, the SUV carries the signature 7-slat grille with chrome accents, rectangular shaped LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a wide bumper with wider air-inlet and pronounced bonnet. The prominent wheel aches with newly-designed U-shaped alloy wheels, flattish roofline, longer rear overhang, an upright tailgate and horizontally placed LED taillamps add more to its muscular looks. Its rear profile shares resemblance to the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer. Read – Jeep Compact Electric SUV Confirmed Below Renegade

Rumour has it that the Commander could be equipped with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). It will be made available with 6 and 7-seats configurations.
In India, the new Jeep Commander (Jeep Meridian) could be made available with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder Multijet diesel engine. The oil burner pushes out a maximum power of 200bhp. The SUV can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The higher trims might be exclusively offered with 4X4 drivetrain system.
