The Korean automaker, Hyundai has recently launched the sixth-generation Verna sedan in the country at a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model comes with all-new design, bigger size and a host of new features along with a new powertrain. It will be offered with two petrol engine options – a 115PS/144Nm, 1.5L naturally-aspirated and a 160PS/253Nm, 1.5L turbo.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna turbo version is the most powerful version in its category. Along with the new turbo petrol engine, the new Verna turbo comes with some exclusive features. The new model has design and interior upgrades over the regular model. Moreover, the Turbo variant gets more ADAS features.
Design Changes
The turbo petrol engine is available with the top-spec SX and SX(O) variants of the new Verna. This model comes with exclusive dual-tone exterior colours along with red front brake calipers. It rides on a black 16-inch alloy wheels. These features give it a sporty styling.
Interior Upgrades
The regular Verna variants come with a dual-tone black and beige interior scheme. The turbo variants get an all-black interior scheme with contrasting red treatment on the steering wheel, gear shifter, door handles and on seat upholstery. The cabin also has a red ambient light strip on the dashboard.
More ADAS Features
The new Verna becomes the second mid-sized sedan in its category that offers radar-based ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The ADAS tech offers features like forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, high beam assist, forward collision avoidance assist and driver attention warning.
A couple of ADAS features are exclusively offered on the top-spec turbo petrol DCT SX(O) variant. This variant comes with leading vehicle departure alert and adaptive cruise control, which are not offered on the regular Verna variants.
Rear Disc Brakes
The top-spec Hyundai Verna SX(O) Turbo DCT variant also comes with disc brakes for all 4 wheels. All other variants come with drum brakes at the rear.
Electronic Parking Brake
Similar to the rear disc brakes and rear disc brakes, the new Hyundai Verna SX(O) DCT variant comes fitted with an electronic parking brake. This premium convenient feature is exclusively offered on the top-spec turbo version, while the other variants get a traditional hand brake.
