New Hyundai i20 Facelift – Debut Details, Key Changes (Expected)

Hyundai’s entry-level Grand i10 and premium i20 hatchbacks are generating decent sales volume for the automaker every month. While the former received a mid-life update earlier this year, the i20 facelift is currently in its testing phase. The new Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to make its debut towards the end of this year, although there is no official word on its launch timeline yet. We don’t anticipate radical changes, though a few cosmetic and feature upgrades will certainly keep it refreshing in the market.

Starting with its interior, the new 2023 Hyundai i20 might feature a new theme and upholstery. To enhance its value-for-money package, the carmaker is likely to equip it with a dashcam, ventilated front seats, an ambient lighting system, and the standard 6 airbags. Hyundai’s upcoming Exter micro SUV will be the first vehicle in its segment to come with a dashcam.

The hatchback’s updated version will continue to offer the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

The front fascia of the i20 facelift will witness major changes. It will receive a slightly tweaked bumper, a grille with arrow-shaped inlets, and newly designed headlamps. The LED DRLs will also be slightly repositioned.

The hatch might get new taillamp clusters with Z-shaped LED inserts. Additionally, there might be new exterior color options along with the existing Polar White, Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Starry Night, Fiery Red with Black Roof, and Polar White with Black Roof.

The existing 1.2L naturally aspirated and 1.0L turbo petrol engines will continue to be offered. While the former produces 83bhp with 114Nm, the latter is good for 120bhp and 172Nm. The new Hyundai i20 facelift will come with the same 5-speed manual, 7-speed DCT automatic, and CVT automatic gearbox options.
