New Hyundai Creta To Get Autonomous Emergency Braking In Brazil

Korean automaker, Hyundai is currently testing the new-gen Creta SUV in Brazil. A new set of spy images reveal interesting details about the new Hyundai Creta 2022, which is expected to be launched in late 2021.

The report claims that the new Hyundai Creta comes equipped with LED lighting system. The SUV retains the split headlamp set-up with LED DRLs positioned at the top, while the headlightlight is placed lower on the bumper. The spotted model was equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels. The headlight unit is halogen-type, which suggests that it could be the mid-level variant.

The new Creta was caught testing with disc brakes on the 4 wheels. The previous model had drum type brakes at the rear. There is a camera mounted on the top of the windshield, which indicates that it will have an automatic emergency braking system. The SUV is also expected to receive lane departure system. The top-spec model will also receive panoramic sunroof.

Another addition to the Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta is the new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which powers the Venue, i20 and the Grand i10 Turbo. This engine is capable of producing 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. This engine will replace the 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated engine. The SUV could also receive the new 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 140bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard. In the Brazilian market, the new Hyundai Creta will challenge the Chevrolet Tracker, Nissan Kicks and the Jeep Renegade Turboflex.

The SUV will also receive design changes and flatter roof and rear profile to accommodate third row of seats. It will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500 and others in the segment.
