New Honda CB350 Recalled In India – Here’s Why

Units of the newly-launched Honda CB350 manufactured between 25th November – 12th December have been recalled over a gearbox issue. Though, the bikemaker hasn’t yet mentioned the number of units affected by the recall exercise. The company says that they have identified a different material grade usage in the counter shaft 4th gear of the transmission. It might cause a defect upon extensive running or usage of the motorcycle. Honda confirms that there is no case of any failure till date.

One must note that the recall activity will start from 23rd March across the nation. Customers of the affected Honda CB350 can contact their nearest BigWing service centre. The affected countershaft 4th gear of transmission will be replaced at free of cost. BigWing dealers will notify their customers via e-mail, call or SMS for inspection of their motorcycle. Additionally, owners can also check if their vehicle needs any attention by visiting Honda BigWing’s website and fill in their vehicle VIN number.

Launched on 30th September 2021, the Honda CB350 comes powered by a 348.36cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor has been tuned for generating power worth 20.8hp at 5,500rpm and 30Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. The maximum torque is produced rather low in the rev range. Honda’s new 350cc motorcycle sits on a new double-cradle frame and runs on 100/90-19 front and 130/70-18 rear tyres. Braking duties are done by a 310mm disc upfront and a 240mm rear disc brake along with the dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The CB350’s suspension system includes a telescopic fork upfront and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike offers several first-in-segment features such as Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS), Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and an assist and slipper clutch.
