Hero MotoCorp is working on multiple new motorcycles including the XPulse 400 and the Xtreme 400S for the Indian market. A new media report claims that the company is all set to reintroduce the iconic premium motorcycle brand – Karizma in the country this year.
The new Hero Karizma is reportedly to be based on the chassis and will be equipped with a brand new engine. The company has a new motorcycle platform ready, which will help the brand to compete in the premium space. While the older Karizma was equipped with a 20bhp, 223cc air-cooled fuel injected engine, the new Hero Karizma is reportedly to get a more powerful 210cc liquid-cooled engine.
The new powertrain is likely to produce around 25bhp of power and 30Nm of torque. This engine will be coupled to a six-speed gearbox. Details about the dimensions, suspension setup and braking system will be revealed in near future. It is expected to share the styling cues from the older generation model.
The Karizma has been one of the most popular motorcycle brands for Hero MotoCorp in the country. The company had introduced the updated bikes in 2014. The last generation model didn’t get the good response from buyers, and were eventually phased out from the market. With the new-gen model, Hero wants to crack the premium motorcycle segment. Hero is currently the XPulse in a good number in the premium motorcycle segment. The Xtreme 200S failed to create volumes for the company.
