New-Gen Mahindra XUV500 To Be Offered With 6 and 7-Seat Options

A new media report claims that the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 launch has been delayed to few months and is now expected to go on sale in April 2021. The SUV was earlier planned to be launched in the first quarter of 2021. The new XUV500 will be designed and developed on the new front-wheel-drive monocoque platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Ford C-SUV.

The report claims that the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 will have all-new cabin, which will offer more space and features. In fact, the new model will sport a flexible seating layout. The company will offer the new model with 6 and 7-seat options, which will make it a direct rival to the likes of the MG Hector Plus 6-Seater and the upcoming Tata Gravitas. The six-seater version will have captain seats for the second-row occupants, while the 7-seater model will have bench-type seats. Also See – New Mahindra XUV500 might come with Level 1 Autonomous Technology

The report claims that the new XUV500 will feature more than one petrol engine option. The SUV will feature the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the new Thar; however, this engine will offer power up to 190bhp. The other versions are likely to receive detuned version of this engine; though, power figures are yet to be released.
