New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Spotted Revealing Interior, Sunroof

Mahindra has officially announced that the upcoming W601 SUV will be called the XUV700, which will be launched in the third quarter of 2021. The company will also launch next-generation Scorpio SUV, codenamed Z101 in the end of 2021 or early 2022. The new model has been caught testing numerous times, and here are new spy images which reveal the interior.

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio looks significantly larger than the existing model. It features an all-new front fascia and a more upright rear end. It get six-slat vertically-stacked front grille, flanked by conventional headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a larger bumper with massive air-dam, roof rails, extended rear overhangs, etc. The SUV retains the side-hinged tailgate. The spotted model comes fitted with large 10-spoke alloy wheels that are shod with MRF Wanderer tyres.

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio interior has a black dashboard. In fact, the centre console design seems identical to the XUV300 compact SUV. The SUV comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system. The air conditioning vents are positioned on either side of the touch-unit, and the speaker unit is placed on the top.

It comes equipped with a flat bottom steering wheel, which has features buttons for audio control. The steering wheel seems identical to the spotted W601 model. The SUV also gets factory-fitted electric sunroof, automatic gearbox, driver-side armrest and forward-facing third-row seat.

It is expected that the new Scorpio will be sold alongside the existing model. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be based on the modified version of the ladder frame chassis, which also underpins the new Thar off-road SUV.

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio is likely to be powered by a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is expected to produce around 158bhp of power. It will also receive a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
