Honda N7X 7-Seater SUV Production Model Coming On Sept 21, 2021

Japanese automaker, Honda is all set to introduce an all-new car in Indonesia on September 21, 2021. The teaser suggest that the new model will be the production-ready Honda N7X 7-seater SUV, which is rumoured to be called the next-gen Honda BR-V. The SUV was earlier planned to be presented at the 2021 GIIAS; which has been postponed to November due to COVID-19.

Honda roadshow showcased the N7X 7-seater SUV in several cities of Indonesia. The company has said that the SUV has received positive response from public. Internally called the DG3, the new SUV is expected to be offered in multiple variants. In the Indonesian market, the new Honda N7X based SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, Suzuki XL7 and others.

Honda 7-Seater SUV Teased

The 3-row SUV is claimed to offer the best of SUV and MPV body styles, and will be suitable for all type of road conditions. It shares the platform and mechanics with the City sedan. It is reportedly to be powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally petrol engine that also powers the City sedan. This engine churns out 121bhp of power and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The SUV could also get a fuel efficient hybrid powertrain, which is also offered with the City sedan in select Asian markets. Indonesian media reports that the new model will be offered in four trim levels – S, E, Prestige and Prestige HS. The entry-level trim will come with manual gearbox only, while the higher trims will come with an optional CVT unit.

The new Honda N7X 7-seater SUV will also receive Honda Sensing (HS) technology, which is the brand’s in-house developed advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It offers features like Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, Traffic sign recognition, Honda LaneWatch, Blind spot detection, auto high-beam headlights, etc.

The production of the N7X will look identical to the concept model. It comes with SUV-ish profile with sloping roofline. The SUV has raised bonnet, thick chrome bar on the signature front grille, LED headlamps, dual-LED DRLs setup, wider air-dam and a faux skid plate and brushed aluminium inserts. The new SUV has large glasshouse area, strong beltline, round wheel arches with black plastic cladding, and split LED tail-lamps. Interiors of the new Honda N7X will have similarities with the City sedan.
