Hyundai Motor India recently released teasers of the upcoming new-generation Verna sedan that’s due for May 2023. Bookings for the sedan have also been commenced across the nation. Now, the carmaker has revealed variant-wise engine details of the new 2023 Hyundai Verna. The updated model lineup will be made available in four trims – EX, S, SX and SX (O). While the diesel will be discontinued, the new-gen model will be offered with two petrol engines – a 1.5L direct injection turbo and 1.5L naturally aspirated.

The 1.5L turbo-petrol unit pushes out a peak power of 160bhp with 260Nm of torque and can be had with two gearboxes – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline unit, which will be made available in the entry-level variants, will make 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. One must note that the entry-level EX and S trims will be made available with the 1.5L NA petrol engine and 6-speed manual gearbox combination. The higher SX and SX (O) variants can be had with all four engine-gearbox combinations.
The company has confirmed that the new-generation Verna will come in 7 single tone and two dual tone colour schemes. The colour palette will have three all-new shades – Tellurian Brown, Abyss Black and Atlas White. Feature list of the sedan is yet to be revealed. Though, the reports suggest that the 2023 Hyundai Verna will receive ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite along with a bunch of new goodies.
Visually, the all-new Verna appears bigger than the existing model. Some of its design changes include a prominent front grille, sleek headlamps with a full-width LED strip, blacked-out B-pillar, body-coloured door handles, newly-designed diamond cut alloy wheels, crystalline LED taillamps and a slim LED bar.
