New 2023 Honda City Facelift Coming Very Soon – All Key Details

The fifth-generation Honda City, which was launched in mid 2020, is all set to receive its first mid-life update in March 2023. The sedan will come with minimal cosmetic and feature upgrades, while its powertrain will remain intact. The carmaker might expand the sedan model lineup with addition of a new trim with petrol hybrid powertrain. Currently, Honda offers the e-HEV powertrain only on the fully-loaded ZX trim that costs Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

When compared to the standard City petrol, the ZX petrol-hybrid variant is significantly more expensive. In order to bridge pricing gap between the petrol and hybrid City, the carmaker might launch a new petrol-hybrid variant. The new 2023 Honda City facelift will continue to come with the 121bhp, 1.5L petrol and 126bhp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain options.

2022 Honda City Hybrid Mileage

While the standard petrol motor will be available with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox, the hybrid setup will be paired to an e-CVT transmission. One must note that the new City facelift will be not available with the 100bhp, 1.5L diesel engine as Honda will discontinue to due to the upcoming RDE norms. For people not in the know, Real Driving Emission norms will come into effect from 1st April 2023.

As mentioned above, a few changes are expected to be made inside and out. The new 2023 Honda City is likely to feature the slightly tweaked front and rear bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. Inside, the sedan might get a wireless charger and ventilated seats.

After the new City facelift, the Japanese automaker will unveil a new mid-size SUV by mid 2023. Its market launch is expected to happen during this year’s festive season. Some of its key features will include a new 10.2-inch digital driver display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Honda Sensing (ADAS) and more.
