New 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Prices, Engines, Seating Options & All Details

The much-awaited new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N is finally here. The carmaker has announced prices and details of the SUV’s new model at an event in Pune. The model lineup comes in a total of 36 variants (13 petrol and 23 diesel) spread across 5 trims, namely, Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L. The range-topping Z8L variant has been priced at Rs 19.49 lakh and Z8 diesel manual costs Rs 17.49 lakh. Prices of the Z3, Z5 and Z6 variants start from Rs 12.50 lakh, Rs 13.99 lakh and 14.99 lakh respectively. Read – Mahindra Thar Loses Out On Some Features

All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The SUV has witness comprehensive cosmetic changes and feature upgrades along with the better off-road capabilities and new, more powerful engines. It’s available in two seating configurations – 6 (2+2+2) and 7-seats (2+2+3). The lower trims have side facing jump seats at the rear and the higher variants get front facing seats. The middle row has bench type and captain seats options (vary variant-wise).

Bookings, Deliveries

The automaker has confirmed that official bookings for the new Scorpio-N will begin from 30th July, 11am onwards. The model will be available at dealerships from 5th July. It’s deliveries will start near around festive season.

Engine Options

The new Scorpio N is being offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variants are powered by a 2.0L mStallion turbo unit pushing out a peak power of 200PS and 370Nm of torque with manual gearbox and 380Nm with automatic transmission. It’s available with the RWD (rear-wheel-drive) drivetrain only.

The diesel models source power from a 2.2L motor that makes 132PS with 300Nm and 175PS with up to 400Nm on the lower and higher variants respectively. It can be had with either RWD or AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. One must note that the new Mahindra Scorpio-N diesel is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The Mahindra Scorpio-N diesel variants offers three ride modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom.

Mahindra Scorpio N 4Xplorer

The 4X4 variant of the new Scorpio has been named – 4Xplorer. It offers 4 off-road modes – Sand, Mud, Grass and Snow. The SUV has been equipped with the front independent and penta-link rear suspension units. It also has FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) dampers as we have seen in the XUV700. The Scorpio-N comes with shift-on-fly 4WD system with low and high range gearbox, mechanical rear locking and front brake locking differential.

Interior Features

The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N comes with a host of new features including a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX tech-pack. For entertainment purpose, there is a Sony 3D sound system with roof mounted speakers. With an aim to attract the urban buyers, Mahindra has equipped the new Scorpio with some advanced features such as a semi digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, an electric sunroof, a new steering with mounted controls, engine start/stop button front and rear cameras and many more. Though, it misses out on a 360 degree camera.

The safety quotient of the new Scorpio-N is higher than the existing model. It offers electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill hold assist, hill descent assist, rear parking camera, multiple airbags and driver drowsiness detection system similar to the XUV700.
