More Than 600 MG ZS Electric SUV Booked In July 2021

MG Motors had launched the ZS EV in the early 2020, which has received positive response from buyers. It is currently India’s second best-selling electric car, as Tata Nexon tops the chart. With the rising fuel prices, buyers in India are looking at alternate fuel options including CNG and electric. In the recent past, demand for EVs and CNG-powered cars have increased significantly.

This is evident, as MG Motors’ premium electric SUV – the MG ZS EV has received over 600 bookings in July 2021. This is confirmed by Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, MG Motor India. In a tweet, Rajeev said, “A lot of people ask about EV potential in India and my typical answer is: People are ready and they need good solutions / options from OEMs. One proof point: We booked all time high 600+ ZS EV in July alone!!”

MG Motors had launched the updated ZS EV in February 2021. The new model is available in two variants – Excite and Exclusive – priced at Rs 21 lakh and Rs 23.18 lakh respectively. It comes with new battery offering higher range, bigger ground clearance and upgraded iSmart system.

The MG ZS Electric SUV features a 44.5kWh battery that offers 143bhp and 353Nm of torque. It comes with a new hi-tech battery, which is claimed to return an impressive 419kms range. The vehicle accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 8.5 seconds. The MG ZS EV can be charged with a 50kW DC fast charger. The SUV’s battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 50 minutes. Using a standard AC charger, it takes 6 to 8 hours for a full charge.

New MG Sub-20 Lakh Electric SUV

MG Motors has officially announced to introduce a new compact electric vehicle in the country in the next two year. It will be priced under Rs 20 lakh, and will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra eXUV300.
