In a major relief to automakers, demand for four-wheelers and two-wheelers have increased significantly in the past 2 months. Despite Coronavirus Pandemic, auto manufacturers witnessed massive surge in their sales in the month of October 2020. In fact, the Indian auto industry recorded double digit growth. – The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the best-selling cars in India for over a decade. The hatchback in its new avatar retains the top-spot, and is currently the best-selling car in India. Maruti Suzuki delivered 24,859 units of the Swift in October, which is 28.13% higher compared to the same month last year. In October 2019, Maruti Suzuki sold 19,401 units of the Swift. – Maruti Brezza retains the top-spot in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The company sold 12,807 units of the Brezza in October 2020, which is 18% higher than the same month last year. It is only available in petrol version. The SUV manages to beat the newly launched Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and others in its category.
– Hyundai delivered 14,023 units of the Creta SUV in October 2020, which makes it the best-selling SUV of India. In fact, the Creta is Hyundai’s best-selling car in India. It recorded a massive 92 per cent growth.
– 8 Maruti Suzuki cars in the list of top 10 best-selling cars in the country. Maruti Suzuki dispatched 21,971 units of Baleno, 18,700 units of WagonR, 17,851 units of Alto, 17,674 Dzire, 13,309 units of Eeco and 10,612 units of the S-Presso.
