Maruti, Hyundai, Tata Record Highest Ever Monthly Sales In October

After several months of severe slowdown, the Indian automobile industry is now recovering as the vehicles’ sales is increasing month-by-month. In October 2020, three major car manufacturers recorded their highest ever monthly sales, namely, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors. The carmaker’s domestic sales stood at 1,66,825 units, which is highest ever monthly sales in its history. The company exported 9,586 units in October 2020. Major sales contribution came from the compact car segment that includes Maruti WagonR, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire and Tour S. The Indo-Japanese carmaker sold 28,462 units of the Alto hatchback and S-Presso small car and 1,422 units of the Ciaz mid-size sedan. In the UV (Utility Vehicle) space, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 25,396 units.

2020 Hyundai Creta New Prices

Hyundai Motor India sold 56,606 units in October 2020 as opposed to 50,010 units during the same month last year. It recorded year-on-year growth of 13.2 per cent. The South Korean carmaker also exported 12,230 units, taking cumulative sales to 68,835 units. The new-generation Creta, updated Verna, Venue, Aura and Nios have helped the company achieve the highest ever monthly sales last month. Tata Motors managed to retain the crown of India’s third largest carmaker last month. The home-grown carmaker recorded total sales of 23,600 units as against 10,431 units during the same period previous year. It accounted a sales growth of 79.20 per cent. It’s the highest sales achieved by Tata Motors in the last 99 months. In coming months, the company will expand its product portfolio with a range of new vehicles including the Tata Gravitas, HBX concept based mini SUV, Altroz EV and more.
