Maruti Suzuki S-Presso – Which Variant To Buy?

You might disagree with Maruti Suzuki’s assertion that the S-Presso is a micro-SUV. However, you can’t deny its popularity in rural areas due to its quirky yet SUVish design. So, if you’re also in the market for the S-Presso and confused between its variants? Worry not; we are here to assist you.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso gets the same 1-litre DualJet petrol engine as the Alto K10, Celerio and lower variants of WagonR. The machine is lively and loves to be revved up, making it a great city car. Also, it can cruise smoothly around 80-100kmph on motorways. However, a quick overtake will require a downshift.

Variant-wise Pricing and Features

1. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso STD

Ex-Showroom PriceRs 4.25 lakh

Key Features: –

InteriorDigital instrument cluster, all-black cabin, 1-litre bottle in front doors, rear console utility space, high Seating for commanding drive view.
Comfort & ConvenienceFront cabin lamp, front sun visors, reclining & front sliding seats, and manual windows.
SafetyDual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, high-speed alert, rear parking sensors, child door lock, front seatbelt pre-tensioner & force limiter,

Verdict: The STD variant is devoid of several basic features, such as power windows, internally adjustable side mirrors, day/night IRVMs, and air conditioning. As a matter of fact, there is no power steering as well. The purpose of offering these types of variants is usually to make the price of the car appear lower. It is, therefore, best to steer clear of this trim.

Ex-Showroom PriceRs 4.95 lakh (Petrol-MT), Rs 5.90 lakh (CNG-MT)
Price Difference From STDRs 70,000

Key Features: –

Verdict: Despite its superiority to STD, LXi still misses several essential features, and we cannot recommend buying it.

3. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso VXI

SafetyESP with Hill Hold (AMT), central door locking, speed-sensitive auto door lock,

Verdict:  Despite offering only the most basic features, the S-Presso VXi is worth taking into account if your budget doesn’t allow you to go beyond this point, and then personalise it from the aftermarket anytime in the future.

4. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso VXI+

Ex-Showroom PriceRs 5.49 lakh (Petrol-MT), Rs 5.99 lakh (Petrol-AMG)
Price Difference From VXIRs 34,000

InteriorColoured centre garnish and rear parcel tray.

Verdict: Maruti Suzuki S-Presso VXI+ is the highest value proposition in the variant lineup for only Rs 34,000 more than the VXi trim, providing several valuable features over VXi. However, the lack of rear power windows and day/night IRVM is a big disappointment.
