Maruti Suzuki Baleno Gets Segment-First Safety Upgrades

Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback is now available with the 3-point seatbelt for the rear centre passenger and an adjustable headrest. With this safety upgrade, it becomes the first vehicle in its segment to offer aforementioned fitments. Just so you know, the Union Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highway made its mandatory for carmakers to install seat belts for driver and co-passengers after car accident of Cyrus Mistry – former Chairman of Tata Sons, last year.

The Ministry has also made 6 airbags mandatory for passenger vehicles that will be applicable to all 8-seater cars. Though, the rule will come into effect from October 2023 due to the global supply chain challenges. The safety kit of the Maruti Baleno also includes 6 airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), electronic stability programme, 360 degree camera, hill start assist, a reverse camera, rear parking sensors and Isofix child seat anchorages.
