Car manufacturers have announced to increase prices of their cars from January 2021. The prices of the cars will be increased due to exchange-rate fluctuations and rising input and material costs. This could help the auto brands improving their sales in December 2020. Here is the list of automakers who will increase prices of their cars from next month –
Maruti Cars Price Increase
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki will increase prices across its product range due to rising input costs. The company hasn’t released the exact increase in prices, and the hike will depend on the model. It is expected that the price hike will be significant due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Mahindra SUVs Price Increase
Mahindra has announced to increase the prices of its SUVs including the Scorpio, XUV500 and the XUV300. The company will also increase the prices of its commercial vehicles. Mahindra said that the prices will be increased due to rising costs of inputs and commodity prices.
Hyundai Cars Price Increase
Hyundai has announced to increase prices of its entire range due to rising input and material costs. The company hasn’t reveal the exact price hike, but the cars will get expensive from January 2021.
Kia Cars Price Hike
Kia Motors is currently selling 3 utility vehicles – the Seltos, the Sonet and the Carnival in the country. The company has said that the Seltos and Sonet will get expensive from January. The Carnival prices are likely to remain unchanged.
Renault Cars Price Increase
Renault has announced to increase prices of its cars by up to Rs 28,000. The revised prices will be applicable from January 1, 2021. The company said that the prices will be increased due to rising input costs for materials like steel, aluminium and plastics.
MG Motors Price Hike
MG has announced to increase prices of its cars by up to 3 per cent from January 1, 2021. The company will also introduce the Hector facelift and the 7-seater version of the Hector Plus in January 2021.
BMW Cars Price Hike
All BMW and Mini cars will get expensive by up to 2 per cent from January 4, 2021. The prices will be increased due to rising input costs and to ensure dealer profitability and sustainable growth.
