Mahindra XUV700 Set To Be The Most Feature-Loaded SUV In Segment

The long-awaited Mahindra XUV700 7-seater SUV is expected to be introduced on the Independence Day, 2021 – that’s August 15. The new model will be based on the new monocoque platform with a provision for 4WD system. It will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and the MG Hector Plus.

Mahindra has already started releasing teaser videos of the XUV700, which reveals some interesting and cool features. Going by the teasers and spy images, it is clear that the Mahindra XUV700 will come equipped with segment-best comfort and convenience features. Not just most feature-loaded, the new XUV700 will be the segment most powerful SUV as well.

The company has revealed 4 cool features of the new XUV700, which includes Smart Door Handles, Auto Booster Headlamps, Pearsonalised Safety Alert System and the Segment-Largest Panoramic Sunroof. The smart door handles automatically pops out when the SUV is unlocked, and goes back inside when the car is locked. The personalised safety alert feature alert the driver on over-speed in the voice of driver’s loved one.

The teaser reveals that if the XUV700 SUV crosses 80kmph while driving at night, the Auto Booster Headlamp automatically switches on extra lights for better visibility. The SUV will be the first in its segment to come with Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which offers features like adaptive cruise control, drowsiness detection, blind spot detection, autonomous braking and lane-keep assist.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the new Mahindra XUV700 will get connected car tech, wireless charging pod, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake with Auto hold, push start/stop button, keyless entry, etc. The SUV will also get automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, LED lighting system, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, digital instrument console, etc.

The new XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L turbocharged diesel. While the former can produce up to 188bhp and 380Nm, the oil burner is likely to offer around 185bhp of power. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV could also receive a mild hybrid system.
