Mahindra & Mahindra will launch the much-awaited XUV700 7-seater premium SUV in the Indian market in the third quarter of 2021. This model will replace the existing XUV500 SUV; however, the company will bring the second generation XUV500 as a 5-seater SUV. The Mahindra XUV700 will be positioned against the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.
The Mahindra XUV700 has been spotted several times, and the latest spy images reveal new details regarding the exterior design. The spotted model is equipped with a dual-tone alloy wheels. The vehicle also gets disc brakes on the rear axle. Other design highlights include flush-fitting door handles, production-ready LED headlamps and tail-lamps, and a roof-integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp.
The Mahindra XUV700 production-ready model also comes equipped with rear wiper and washer, bootlid mounted number plate holder, and A-pillar mounted wing mirrors. The new model will be designed and developed on an all-new modular platform.
Previous spy images reveal that the cabin of the new Mahindra XUV700 will be premium and feature-loaded. It will come equipped with an all-new dashboard, which is dominated by a large screen. The SUV gets Mercedes-Benz inspired single piece display with split screens for instrument console and infotainment system. The large touchscreen will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The all-new Mahindra XUV700 will come equipped with segment-first ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with emergency braking system, 3D panoramic vision for driver, a radar system, blind spot detection and an eyelid tracking mechanism.
The 2021 Mahindra XUV700 will be offered with two new engines – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
