Mahindra XUV700 Electric SUV (XUVe.8) – 7 Key Details

In August 2022, Mahindra & Mahindra showcased its five upcoming electric SUVs in their concept avatars in the UK. The range comes under two new sub-brands – XUV.e and BE. The carmaker recently unveiled the Mahindra XUV.e9 and BE.05 electric SUVs along with the BE Rall E concept in the county. The company has already confirmed that the Mahindra XUV.e8 will be the first model to enter into production and hit Indian roads towards the end of 2024. It’s essentially the Mahindra XUV700 electric SUV with EV-specific design elements and electric powertrain.

If reports are to be believed, the prototype of the Mahindra XUV700 electric (XUVe.8) is ready for testing and it will come with a 54kWh battery pack.

The SUV’s concept shares its design language and interior layout with its ICE-powered counterpart.

What differentiate it are its closed-off front grille, bumper mounted headlamps, full-width LED light bars running towards the bumper, a sharply designed bonnet and angular stance.

Dimensionally, the Mahindra XUVe.8 concept measures 4740mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1760mm in height. It sits on a 2762mm long wheelbase.

The final production version of the Mahindra XUV700 electric SUV will be made available with battery pack ranging up to 80kWh.

It can be had with AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The power figure of the electric SUV is likely to be between 230bhp – 350bhp.

The XUVe.8 will be designed on Mahindra’s new INGLO modular platform that supports different body sizes, wheelbase, track dimensions, powertrain configurations and AWD and RWD systems. All the upcoming Mahindra EVs will have same battery back design and use two different cell architectures – Prismatic (for the smaller battery pack) and Blade (for the larger battery pack).
